Athlete Assistance - Premier's Athletic Awards

The Department is pleased to accept applications from provincial athletes requesting financial assistance to help offset the costs associated with training and travel to competitions. All relevant information on the Athlete Assistance Program is posted on the NL Government Website at http://www.tcr.gov.nl.ca/tcr/sports/index.html

The Premier's Athletic Awards (PAA) is a component under the Athlete Assistance Program and is designed to recognize athletic excellence of the province's elite athletes. Financial support is provided to select athletes to defray the costs incurred through training and competition and must be used for this purpose only.

Seven NLAA athletes were recognized at last year's Premier’s Athletic Awards hosted by the Honourable Kathy Dunderdale, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, May 16, 2012, at the Battery Hotel, St. John's: Jillian Forsey (Kippens), Darcy Buckingham (St. John’s), Daniel Kelloway (Mount Pearl), Jesse Walsh (Tors Cove), Nicole Chan (St. John’s), William Forsey (Kippens), Matt Noseworthy (St. John’s).
